Multi-Disciplined Assessment of a Campus Facility
Macutex has been engaged on a number of occasions by the University of South Australia (UniSA) to conduct facility asset assessments and reporting at different locations.
UniSA engaged Macutex to undertake a multi-disciplined assessment of the Mawson Centre Building, a significant campus facility, to gain a better understanding of the current condition and existing and future maintenance requirements.
The condition assessment included the following key elements:
- Building Structure (floor, wall and roof)
- Building Fabric (external claddings, internal fit-out and finishes)
- Building Services (heating, plumbing, fire and transportation systems)
- Site Infrastructure (car parking, pavements, signage and lighting)
The property condition and compliance assessment performed by Macutex supported the client’s objective to define the overall condition of the building and produce a detailed report including:
- An assets and facilities register
- An outline of maintenance issues and risks to the building
- A maintenance plan of remedial works
- An asset renewal plan with a minimum 10-year forecast
